Sounds definately like a procaine reaction to me. I've only ever had it happen once in a long career with horses. I agree with what Forbidden Doughnut says but not the bit about it possibly being fatal. Most vets agree that it is a bit of a calculated risk associated with anti-biotic injections. Very scary when a horse goes nuts and gallops around for 20 mins, they can really injure themselves and there is nothing you can do for them until they stop. They will flatten you if you try and block them. Hope you have no further problems.
